There are two very important parts of ourselves that we hide, even from ourselves. They are the False Selves. And not being in touch with them comes at a cost. The cost is wholeness, a sense of true integration.
I call these the Denied Self and the Exiled Self.
The Denied Self, who many refer to as the Shadow Self, is the part of you that gets tucked away because it is so baaaaaad. You’re saying to that part of yourself: I’m definitely not that!! So you deny that you have those aspects within yourself.
The Exiled Self is kind of the opposite. You’ve tucked this part away because you’re saying: I couldn’t possibly be that!! Because you deem it so good, too high above you, and you are not worthy of it or not capable. This is when you put others way up high on a pedestal.
The thing is, both of these selves reside in you.
You have denied aspects in you whether you acknowledge them or not. And your Exiled self really wishes you would believe in it enough to aim higher, allow yourself more.
Check out this clip from a previous webinar where I share the personal story of my Denied Self (it’s pretty funny) and how you can identify these aspects in yourself.
The complete training, Unmask Your True Self, is available HERE.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments. What resonated most with you about the False Selves?
Big love,
Jen
